Il mercato televisivo italiano è digitale. L'analogico è presente, a fine 2010, in meno del 20% delle abitazioni.

Dopo un periodo piuttosto sfavorevole, a causa della crisi economica, il mercato crescerà, nel prossimo triennio, ad un tasso medio del 3,4%.

La pubblicità rimane la risorsa principale del mercato, pur crescendo a ritmi inferiori rispetto alla pay-tv e rimanendo costantemente al di sotto del 50%.

Mediaset rimarrà leader nella pubblicità e Sky nella pay-tv. Pur riducendo la quota di mercato nel core business, Sky riprenderà a crescere in valori e abbonati e diventerà un attore significativo anche nel mercato pubblicitario, grazie all’aumento dell’offerta in chiaro sul digitale terrestre.
