AGCOM, the Italian Communications Regulator, is proposing radical new measures aimed at curbing the influence of three of the country's dominant DTT players. [...] Under the current system, network operators were selling capacity to "smaller competitors" with thematic or specialist channels that would not threaten their audiences. Augusto Preta, general manager at ITMedia Consulting, said: "If they don't want a big company on their network, then they won't give it capacity, which could be anti-competitive".
